Hair Gone

Teen 2 has been considering cut off her long hair for some time now.  Back in July she decided that she did want to cut it off but we both thought it a good idea to let the idea sit for a bit before the big cut.

Today was the day. With scissors in my hand I gave her one last option to change her mind.

Then in less than five minutes she was standing holding a long plat of her hair and remarking how light her entire head felt.

BEFORE - We took this pic back in early July

AFTER - I like that I caught her discovery of the difference.
"It feels so funny when I slide my hand down and it slides off!"

19"/48cm of long silky, brown hair.

A picture really does say 1000 words.
Now she can wear her hair down, not have to plat it for bed, school etc.  It will be quick to wash (and not cost me a small fortune in conditioner etc) and not take three hours to dry.  She can't wait to show it off at school next week and see if people recognise her with her hair loose and not in a long plat down her back...

Do you know anyone who wants to buy 19" of quality hair?  she is keen on making a few dollars from it towards the car she is saving for.

You could try ringing a hair salon that sells hair extentions - ring around for a good price or wig shops. Good luck! Kaz

it feels so weird!!! I've been growing it out for 7+ years and now it's just gone!!!I can have it out and not have to worry about sitting on it or tieing it up before I go to the loo or having it fall into my food or or or! It's definateely gonna take some getting used to.

Hey, I love the surprised-half happy-uncertain look on the face! The cut off plait looks a bit wierd--like a relic or something. Hope you can find an appreciative buyer for it.

Wow - the hair looks in top condition so good luck finding a buyer. It's liberating chopping all that hair off. My hair is incredibly thick and when I had it that long and wanted to chop it off the hairdresser almost refused. I told her it's just hair and will grow back. Enjoy your new 'do'!

Wow! Check out that beautiful hair! Amazing.. really!

By the way, I have moved over 20 times..and once lived six whole weeks out in the country in two rooms with our four kids while trying to find a rental home in downtown Corsicana. They have a very tight rental market and Tim's boss's company of 12 years ago decided to leave the Dallas location and move. So we had to move with them. We stacked the four twin mattresses in the one largish room every morning..and then pulled them down at night. We slept on a sofa bed. And I got pregnant..and it was 65 because the house had no insulation. That was our first experience in country living and I'm surprised it didn't spoil us on the idea. My heart goes out to you for always being on the road. I keep thinking it was genetic..my husband's pioneer spirit. Ha!
