Hello out there in blog-land... are you still there?
I have been absent for such a long while ... and now I am stating the obvious...
I have been wanting to get back, but at the same time feeling somewhat lost and not knowing how or where to pick up again.
A recent award from a dear friend has been on my mind and I will use it as impetus and launching pad to get myself back into blogging.
Award Rules:1. Thank the person who gave you this award
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Pass the award along to bloggers who you have recently discovered and who you think are fantastic for whatever reason! (in no particular order…)
4. Contact the bloggers you’ve picked and let them know about the award.
My dear friend Textile Tragic at ZTwistArt gave me this award and I thank her, although I am not certain on my deservatory-ness (new word I just invented) for such an honour. Thanks for the encouragement and the kick in the pants. ;)
Seven things about me that you may not know.
1. We have just moved house (again) and that is part of the reason for my long absence.
2. I have been on this planet for 41 years and have moved house 39 times in those years. All of those moves were moving every possession that we own and do not include holidays or stays where we had a home to return to.
3. The longest I have ever lived anywhere is five years and nine months and I have had one other period of five years; from the age of ten - fifteen. I have had three stays of three years in one house.
4. The shortest time I have ever lived anywhere that I can remember is eight weeks and I am not talking about a holiday stay... it was lock, stock and moved everything.
5. In the first seven years of my life we moved 17 times and I have little memory of many of the houses. Many of my childhood memories are fragments of different houses and locations.
6. One of the ways I remember when an event happened is to picture the house I lived in at the time and to then narrow it down to the time frame in which I lived in that location.
7. My deepest yearning is to have my own home and to not have to keep moving house.
now since I am on a roll it is bonus info...
8. In all those moves we have only had the benefit of a removalist on five occasions.
9. Whilst I am very experienced at moving, (practice does make perfect) it gets harder each time and the emotional toll it takes is getting worse as I get older.
10. I do not come from gypsie descendants. My mother lived in the same house for her entire childhood and had her first move at nearly 20 years old. Her husband (my natural father) dragged us all over the country during the six years of their marriage and my formative years. Once she left my father we lived in a Housing Commission house for two and a half years until mum married my step-father. We lived in the house he built for five years until my parents could afford a bigger house where they lived for the next 25 years and have recently moved into their 'retirement home' (as they call their new home).
Now I believe I am to pass this award onto other bloggers.
1. Jane at Projects by Jane; I love seeing her bags and reading about her life as she makes and sells her bags.
2. Nancy at F8hasit; I love her writing style and the stories she tells of her life are thought provoking and poignant.
3. Donna at Coming Home; I find her stories of life encouraging and inspiring.
4. Anna at Noodlehead; mothering and craft and cute stories.
There are heaps of other deserving blogs, but I need sleep... I'll contact all tomorow.
