Bedside Drawers Transformation

I had been hunting on eBay for a couple of weeks for a suitable bedside unit for the room reno and was having difficulty finding the right kind of thing. They were way too expensive or were in a pair or made of melamine or were too far away to collect, or were the wrong shape or lacked drawers or were too wide etc.

A bedside set of drawers was offered on freecycle and the add stated that it would suit a young girl. I emailed and asked if it would also suit an older teen girl and requested the item. It was offered to us. It was in a neighbouring suburb so was easy to collect that same day.  When collecting items via freecycle one never knows what one will get. Sometimes it is rubbish (literally) and sometimes it really is a treasure.

This one turned out to be treasure.
Before
the dog had to be involved too.

A clean, light sand and a few coats of white gloss paint later...

One would hardly recognise it as the same unit.

The tall boy got the same treatment

I forgot to take a photo of it before hand. It wasn't a huge change as it had been white washed previously. It does look a heap better now though as it was also very grubby previously.

It is gradually all coming together... I a so looking forward to the big reveal of the whole room.

Amazing what a difference the white paint made to the bedside! And I like the way the shaped edges of the top of the bedside match the trim on the tallboy. It's all looking good.
